At the MFI Foundation, we create jobs in the creative economy that pay fair and stable wages, prioritizing women, persons with disabilities, and parents of children with disabilities who too often face barriers in work.
In Ghana, most seamstresses and tailors pay for their apprenticeship training. At the MFI Foundation, we remove this barrier and provide artisan trainees with free, high-quality training and a living stipend so they can focus fully on their craft.
We offer a short-term program that provides artisans with six months of job training and a start-up grant to help them launch their own businesses, often in tie-dye cloth-making or soap-making.
Our work-from-home program trains and supports artisans in bead-making and other accessory-making, helping them earn income from home and transition into full-time work or independent businesses.
We run regular community trainings in soap-making and other crafts, helping women learn skills they can use to earn income while raising awareness about disability inclusion.
